The Weather

News item: Scots are sad and depressed, as a result of Scotland's bleak weather.

It's no' the thocht o' things tae come,

or e'en the price o' whisky, rum.

Some think it's jist that Willie Bauld

fur 'cap' wis left oot in the caul.

It's no' the cost o' livin' dear,

or tax, tae mak' them shed a tear.

Nor is it talk o' war - I doot

that gies them sich depressin' look.

Let flyin' saucers come wi' roars;

wee angry spacemen in their scores.

Whae cares? Yin Scotsman is a match

fur hauf a dizen o' the batch.

Kin it be bridge they cannae get?

(they've had a wheen o' raw deals). Yet,

noo answer's clear, nae farther seek,

It's jist oor Scottish weather, bleak.
